LADS TO LEADERS PRACTICE: Will resume Sept. 2007
We have so many young children at Arlington that we are overflowing with energy. We also realize that it is our responsibility as parents and the Lord's church to train our children in God's Word. The Lads to Leaders program provides us with organization, structure, positive reinforcement, and a bridge to cross generation gaps within the congregation. Click on the above links to go to their website for more details.
We are in the process of teaching our elementary aged boys and girls how to speak in public and lead singing. The children are also given a memory verse and encouraged to memorize 100 verses by February to receive the "Centurion of Scripture Award."
We meet at the church building on the 1st and 3rd Sunday's of the month at 4:00pm to practice our speeches and singing. Every month that has a 5th Sunday, we let our Lads speak, read Scripture, recite memory verses and lead singing in front of the entire congregation during our evening worship service.
We let our Leaderettes participate in front of our Ladies Bible Class that meets on Wednesday evenings.
The Lads to Leaders Program has a National Convention at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN every Spring where all the children will receive rewards for the speaking and song leading skills as well as any other of the many events that are offered.
We are just beginning the Lads to Leaders program at Arlington, but we are very optimistic and having a grand time practicing.
